World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser

The chocolate bar sale is now over. We still have a few families that need to turn in their money. If you have not turned in your money, please send it in as soon as possible so we can close out this fundraiser.  Thank you SO much to everyone that participated! Once we have all the money in, we will let you know how much money this fundraiser raised. J  Also, a HUGE thank you to the families that have volunteered to help sell the bars of chocolate that were returned...you are the BEST!

PTSO Volunteer Hours and Meeting Attendance Reports

Last week a report of volunteer hours and PTSO Meeting attendance went home in your student’s Eagle folder. Please review your hours and meeting attendance and return any changes to the school. Please know that we expect there to be changes, so do not be alarmed if your hours or attendance do not reflect what you have actually done so far this year. The easiest way to make sure all your hours and meetings are recorded is to sign the pink volunteer book up at the front of the school, and be sure to sign the attendance form at each PTSO meeting you attend. Students who volunteer outside of school must submit a letter from the organization they volunteer with to document the hours they have volunteered. Thank you for your understanding and, most importantly, for your support of our school!

Yearbook Orders

Yearbook Orders are now being taken for $40. If you need a yearbook order form, or an ad form you can pick one up at the school, or e-mail me back and I will send you a copy. Please make all checks out to SCJH.

From the Office:

A couple of reminders from our parent handbook:

“Breakfast & lunch is available for purchase. SCJH participates in the free and reduced meal program. Meals brought from home should be nutritious. NO candy, high sugared foods, coffee, or high caffeine drinks or soda are allowed. Lunches are provided through Sebastian Elementary school. Please make all checks for meals payable to Sebastian Elementary. Parents/guardians may pay for meals through the School District of Indian River County’s website: www.lunchprepay.com There is a small fee for that service.”

Phones – the telephones in the school shall be used for school business only. Students may use the phone in case of an emergency. Calling to get forgotten items or to make arrangements with other students for after school activities are not emergencies. It takes away from class instructional time when a message must be delivered to a student. All messages will be given at the end of the class period. Classes will not be interrupted to deliver messages except in the event of an emergency. Delivering messages takes valuable time from the office personnel as do interruptions for students to come to the office to utilize the phone. Please make arrangements with your student prior to the school day for after school activities. For the 2011-2012 school year, this policy will be strictly enforced.”

If anyone has any questions, please call Director Taylor at 388-8838. Thank you for your understanding.
